Abstract: In the present communication a series of novel indeno-pyrazole derivatives were synthesized by the reaction of α, β-unsaturated ketones with phenyl hydrazine in polyethylene glycol-400 (PEG-400) and few drop of acetic acid. The newly synthesized compounds were characterized and confirmed by IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and mass spectral data. The results obtained indicate the significance of indeno-pyrazole derivatives as potent scaffold for designing novel and broad spectrum antimicrobials.
