Abstract: A new isoflavonolignan glycoside, butesuperin B-7''-O- b -glucopyranoside (1) along with a known isoflavonolignan butesuperin A (2), were isolated from the roots of Sophora tonkinensis. The structure of the new compound was elucidated using spectroscopic methods, mainly 1D and 2D NMR. Compound 1 showed week cytotoxicity against BEL-7404 and NCI-H460 cells in MTT assay.

Keywords: Sophora tonkinensis ; isoflavonolignan; butesuperin B-7''-O- b -glucopyranoside.
