1) Facile synthesis of some novel 2-substituted-4,6-diarylpyrimidines using 4 ' -hydroxy-3 ' ,5 ' -dinitrochalcones and S-benzylthiouronium chloride
Various 4'-hydroxy-3',5'-dinitro substituted chalcones 1 and S-benzylthiouronium chloride (SBT) 2 in the presence of DMF-organic bases (morpholine/ pyrrolidine/ piperidine) gave 4,6-diaryl-2-(4-morpholinyl / 1-pyrrolidinyl /1-piperidinyl)- pyrimidines 4, 5and 6 in a facile one-pot conversion. In an another attempt reactants 1 and 2 yielded intermediate 2-benzylthiopyrimidines 3, in presence of DMF, which on treatment with heterocyclic secondary amines gave products 4, 5 and 6 in an alternate two-step process.Keywords Chalcone S-benzylthiouronium chloride heterocyclic secondary amines. 2) An efficient solvent-free synthesis of imidazolines and benzimidazoles using K 4[Fe(CN) 6] catalysis
Imidazolines and Benzimidazoles have been efficiently synthesized in high yields by treatment of 1,2-diamine with aldehydes using the metal co-ordinate complex K 4[Fe(CN) 6] as a catalysis. The method was carried out under solvent free condition via oxidation of carbon-nitrogen bond. 3) Organotin(IV) compounds of n-propyl and isopropyl glutarate: their synthesis, spectral characterization and antibacterial activity
A series of new di- and triorganotin(IV) complexes of monoisopropyl and mono n-propyl glutarate have been synthesized and characterized by 1H- 13C- 119Sn-NMR, UV, IR and Mass spectrometry. The spectroscopic investigation demonstrated that the carboxylate group acts as a bidentate ligand in diorganotin(IV) and as a monodentate ligand in triorganotin(IV) compounds. Biological evaluation against various microorganisms indicates that the diorganotin(IV) complexes are slightly less reactive than triorganotin(IV) complexes.Keywords Organotin(IV) carboxylates spectroscopic studies biological activity . 4) Synthesis and characterization of new analogs of zafirlukast
Design, synthesis and characterization of four novel series of Zafirlukast analogs are described.
